Staying Sane in the New Normal
Raise your hand if you've been personally victimized by 2020! If your hand isn't up, please comment below with where you're living so we can all seek asylum.
While we have very little control with the current state of the world around us, here are a few things our family has attempted to implement to give us a little sanity.
Start a vitamin routine. For us this meant taking a multivitamin, multi-magnesium and vitamin D. It probably looks different for everyone, this is the basic vitamins we take to feel our best.
Move our bodies. Just movement, not moving mountains. This can mean walking the dog, physical play with your child, push ups or squats in the living room.
Being outdoors in the AM. Spending at least twenty minutes outdoors helps us set the pace for the day. If you don't have access to an outdoor area, consider opening an east facing window and breathing fresh air or visiting a park in the morning hours. Something as simple as walking around the block can help relax your mind before you jump in the chaos of the day.
Making at least one meal from scratch. Is there something you've been meaning to learn how to make? I've found that the easiest meals to learn to make are usually breakfast items. Start by frying the perfect egg or making your own waffle mix. Aiming to make at least one meal a day completely from scratch has given us something to look forward to.
What are you doing to stay sane during these stressful times? How has your life and routine changed?
