Quick Quinoa (Instant Pot)

Most people know how easy it is to cook rice in an Instant Pot, but did you know you can also make perfectly cooked quinoa? The result is always so tender and fluffy, now we don’t cook quinoa any other way.

Quinoa is a seed that is high in essential amino acids and has a higher protein content than other grains. We love including it in our meal rotation, it absorbs sauces and flavors beautifully.

**A note about our Instant Pot: We use the Instant Pot Duo, it is the 6 quart size. This is the size I recommend because the 3 quart is too small for making broths or larger portions. It is extremely easy to use and my most frequently used kitchen gadget, besides my Kiwi knives of course!

1c. Quinoa

1 1/2c. water or broth

  1. Pour ingredients into instant pot.

  2. Select rice setting and adjust timer to 12 minutes. Make sure the ’Keep Warm’ button is also highlighted and the handle on the lid is pointed to ‘Sealing.’

  3. Once the timer has gone off to indicate that the quinoa is done pressure cooking, allow it to sit in the ‘keep warm’ stage for 15 minutes.

  4. Fluff quinoa with a fork and serve!

There you have it folks! Super simple. You can use this with my delicious Taco Meat recipe to make taco bowls or as a substitution for rice in any recipe.
