Creamy Peanut Butter Frosting

There are millions of recipes out there for peanut butter frosting, but I kept running into the same issue with most: WAY TOO SWEET. I wanted a creamy frosting that I could pipe, but also one that was easily spread.

This recipe was originally created for my husbands birthday cake. You don't have to use vanilla bean paste, it can be substituted for vanilla extract. I recommend using a high quality extract. Yes, it does make a difference.

Creamy Peanut Butter Frosting

3 c. powdered sugar

1 c. butter

1 c. peanut butter

1 tsp vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract

  1. Cream together butter and peanut butter.

  2. Add vanilla paste or extract and blend well, scraping down sides of bowl with a spatula.

  3. Slowly add powdered sugar, mixing well. If you are piping this frosting I recommend sifting the powdered sugar in to avoid any lumps that may clog your frosting tip.

  4. Frost your cake and enjoy!

Our favorite way to enjoy this frosting is on recipe for Chad's Chocolate Cake.
